Making Dreams Come True
for children with life-threatening illnesses
Over The Moon Recipient
The Dreams Come True “Over The Moon” Award was developed to recognize the men and women in our local hospitals and clinics who are on the front lines of treating and assisting our children, and who go above and “Over the Moon” for our dreamers.
We are proud to announce Morgan Blackwell, board-certified Music Therapist at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, as our recent recipient of the “Over The Moon” Award.
Here are some questions we asked Morgan:
Tell us a little more about yourself and what you enjoy doing outside of your career?
I am the Board-Certified music therapist at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. I provide music therapy to our patients to support non-musical goals such as managing pain, processing experiences and expressing throughout hospitalizations.
I love music and being outside. I regularly write music and enjoy being at concerts. When I am not at Wolfson’s, I spend my time on hikes, adventuring and traveling to new places.
What do you love about your job?
The creativity and strength of my patients is unparalleled. I love being able to support patients of all ages from NICU babies to teens.
How would you describe the impact of a dream on a child and their family?
By providing a patient-centered experience the child gets to choose, Dreams Come True gives back control and hope to our patients in an environment where they lose the everyday ability to make independent choices. The trauma and diagnoses of our patients do not change, but the opportunity to hope and look forward to something big positively impacts the kiddos coping and mindset as they go.
What does Dreams Come True mean to you?
Dreams Come True supports music therapy and our patient’s at Wolfson’s in such a unique way. They provide opportunities for patients to hope for something new and build a support system around families and patients. It means partnering with families through some of the toughest seasons of life. I know that when we reach out, the organization will do their best to accommodate the needs of our program and our patients, no matter the time of day.
What is one of your fondest memories associated with a dreamer and their dream trip?
My fondest memory with a Dreamer would have to be when Dreams Come True supported a patient’s dream of learning how to play the piano. Not only did they provide a state-of-the-art keyboard to begin learning, but also celebrated a treatment milestone for the patient. The patient was overjoyed and speechless by the gift. Ever since, I have been able to teach beginning principles of the piano and equip the patient with coping tools through music. She is working on songs currently to express and process her hospitalization.
At Dreams Come True, our mission is brought to life through the dedication and passion of our staff, volunteers and the partnerships on the First Coast that we cherish. It is together that we are able to ensure that no child is denied a dream or placed on a waiting list. Thank you to all our donors for their assistance in bringing hope and joy into the lives of local children battling life-threatening illnesses. A special thank you to the following community partners who have gone above and beyond to help us fulfill our mission.
Our Community. Our Children. Our Commitment.

Dream Society of Giving
In 1984, the Northeast Florida community laid the foundation that has led to the fulfillment of more than 3,700 dreams. Today, annual corporate and individual gifts sustain the ever growing work of Dreams Come True as we strive to maintain our commitment to never have a waiting list and never turn down an eligible child. Gifts to Dreams Come True are tailored to meet the goals of each company or individual donor. Regardless of whether your support is through a general donation or for a specific program or event, your gift will be recognized.
Approximately 98% of all dreams granted by Dreams Come True last year fell into this range. Therefore, by becoming a Dream Maker, you can underwrite the cost of an entire dream.
