JIAMC Annual Tree Decorating Contest
December 5, 2020 - December 31, 2020
At Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) this season, you will see a number of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, sponsored by local businesses, in support of Dreams Come True of Jacksonville. Since 2003, the Jacksonville International Airport Management Council (JIAMC) has been supporting Dreams Come True by hosting a tree decorating contest during the holidays. Trees are located along the connector bridge between ticketing and the security checkpoint.
As you travel through JAX this season or picking up friends and family, please spend a few minutes to admire the trees, cast your vote (voting boxes will be located near the trees), and make a donation. You can visit www.JIAMC.com to donate and vote through PayPal. Every $1 donation counts as ONE VOTE (ex. a $5 donation = 5 votes for that tree). In addition, a Facebook competition is now live, and you can vote on your favorite tree through the JIAMC Facebook page
Voting will end on December 31, 2020. At the end of the contest, JIAMC will present the money raised to Dreams Come True at one of their monthly meetings. Every donation made throughout this contest will go directly toward the “Playroom Makeover Dream” for 6-year-old Anna.
At the age of 3, Anna (age 6), was diagnosed with a progressive neuromuscular disorder called Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, which causes nerve damage (mostly in the arms and legs) and has no direct treatment.
Her immobility has caused secondary medical problems, such as: osteoporosis, kidney stones, gastrointestinal problems, and respiratory weakness. This summer, Anna underwent surgery to correct her hip dysplasia. Despite not being able to stand or walk, Anna is a very happy little girl who started first grade this year. Anna was a member of the Dreams Come True 2019 “TaxSlayer Gator Bowl Dream Team.”
