Kane was diagnosed with Wilm’s tumor after doctors discovered a mass in his right kidney in December 2015. Four days later, Kane went into surgery to have the kidney removed. Although the surgery was successful, the main doctor said Kane would still need radiation as a precaution, and his chemo treatment started the week of Christmas.

In February 2017 Kane and his family traveled to Orlando for their Disney Dream trip. His dream was sponsored by Burdette Ketchum.

From Kane: It was the most awesome vacation ever! My favorite place was Epcot! I rode the Test Track 10 times! It was awesome!!

From his Family: I just want to give a big thank you for making our son’s dream vacation possible!!! I have lots of pictures but I know within our hearts we will never forget the best family vacation we ever experienced thanks to you guys!! Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts for making my son smile the biggest, brightest smile for a whole week!!!

Chloe was born with a rare congenital heart defect. The defect required immediate open heart surgery at birth as well as ongoing interventions throughout her life. Chloe was also found to have a deletion on her 22nd chromosome, otherwise known as DiGeorge Syndrome. For Chloe this meant an immune deficiency and other complications that led to weeks in the hospital with life threatening respiratory infections. After two open heart surgeries and multiple other surgeries and procedures, Chloe now leads a very active lifestyle. Chloe has not allowed her diagnosis to slow her down.

Chloe and her family will be heading to New York City this December for her dream trip. Chloe’s dream is being sponsored by the Community Nutcracker.

Addison needed a colostomy bag at birth and stayed at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in the PICU for almost 4 months due to multiple complications. She fought very hard for her life. No one knew if she would come home, but after about three months on the ventilator and more than 8 chest tube, 2 central lines, one pic line, tons of x-rays, CT scans, therapy, and much more she was finally sent home. The few years following her discharge have included 10 surgeries, several doctor visits, hospitalizations for sicknesses, procedures, testing, etc. Addison still gets two shots a day for her clotting disorder and goes for various checkups and medications. There will be more surgeries down the road, but for now Addison is just trying to focus on being a kid.

In January 2017, Addison saw her dream of seeing snow fulfilled as she traveled to Lake Tahoe with her family. On their first day they were greeted with 80 inches of snow!

Kacey was diagnosed in 2014 with Osteosarcoma (Bone Cancer) following a fall and a chipped knee done that would not heal. Kacey and her mother spent countless hours and days in the hospital has she endured three months of chemotherapy. Kacey underwent a procedure known as rotationplasty, where the surgeons would remove the tumor and unsalvageable knee and turned the remaining healthy leg backwards and reattached it. Her ankle became her new knee and she was fitted for a prosthetic to be her new foot.

Kacey finished chemo in January 2015 and test results show no evidence of disease. Kacey has been part of the Dreams Come True 5K since 2015. She has been a brave and strong young girl who is always excited to join us at our event and cheer for all the runners and even cross that finish line on her own.
