Chloe was born with a rare congenital heart defect. The defect required immediate open heart surgery at birth as well as ongoing interventions throughout her life. Chloe was also found to have a deletion on her 22nd chromosome, otherwise known as DiGeorge Syndrome. For Chloe this meant an immune deficiency and other complications that led to weeks in the hospital with life threatening respiratory infections. After two open heart surgeries and multiple other surgeries and procedures, Chloe now leads a very active lifestyle. Chloe has not allowed her diagnosis to slow her down.

Addison needed a colostomy bag at birth and stayed at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in the PICU for almost 4 months due to multiple complications. She fought very hard for her life. No one knew if she would come home, but after about three months on the ventilator and more than 8 chest tube, 2 central lines, one pic line, tons of x-rays, CT scans, therapy, and much more she was finally sent home. The few years following her discharge have included 10 surgeries, several doctor visits, hospitalizations for sicknesses, procedures, testing, etc. Addison still gets two shots a day for her clotting disorder and goes for various checkups and medications. There will be more surgeries down the road, but for now Addison is just trying to focus on being a kid.
In January 2017, Addison saw her dream of seeing snow fulfilled as she traveled to Lake Tahoe with her family. On their first day they were greeted with 80 inches of snow!
